Das am schönsten Platz Ambergs gelegene Gebäude aus dem 14. Jhdt. mit dem passenden Hausnamen „Engelsburg“ – bietet auf drei Stockwerken mit 650 qm Ausstellungsfläche einzigartige Schauräume rund um das Thema Luft.

Luft wird erlebbbar und begreifbar.
Das LUFTMUSEUM zeigt den „airparc“, (eine Leihgabe der Firma Festo AG & Co.KG, gestaltet und erbaut 2004 von Wilhelm Koch, Oskar Lottner, Andreas Schönberger)mit folgenden Objekten: Luftdusche / fliegender Teppich / Luft-Globus / Pneu-Thron / 16-Ventiler / Luft-Alphabet / Plus/Minus / Bar / Pneu-Haufen / Aeolsharfe / Fifty-Fifty-Würfel  / Luftbrunnen / Einkaufstütenorgel / Herbstwind  / Druckluftuhr / Pneu-Wagen / Rohrpost / Luftbrücke . . .

Neben Ausstellungen gibt es Vorträge, Lesungen, Führungen und Konzerte. Im Erdgeschoss finden Wechselausstellungen über Design, Architektur, Kunst, Technik und Alltagskunst statt. 

Das LUFTMUSEUM AMBERG wurde Anfang 2006 in Eigeninitiative gegründet (Initiator war der Künstler Wilhelm Koch) und wird durch Vereinsbeiträge, Eintrittsgelder, Spenden und Lufthelfer finanziert. 
Träger ist der  Luftmuseum e.V..

The AIR MUSEUM was founded as a private initiative at the
beginning of 2006 and is financed by donations and air helpers
without any public funding.

VZDUŠNÍ MUZEUM bylo založeno v roce 2006 z vlastní iniciativy a je financováno  výlučně peněžnýma dary  a vzdušníma pomocník.

Situé sur la plus belle place d’Amberg, Le « Klösterl » (petit couvent) est un bâtiment du 14ème siècle au surnom sur mesure d’  «Engelsburg» (Château de l’ange). Il offre un esace d’exposition unique avec ses 650 mètres carrés répartis sur trois étages et entièrement dédié au thème de l’air…

On peut appréhender et comprendre l’air :
Le Musée de l’air met en scène l’  «airparc» (une location faite à la compagnie Festo AG & Co. KG, conçue et façonné par Wilhem Koch, Oskar Lottner et Anderas Schönberger en 2004) avec la douche à air, le tapis volant, l’orgue colonne, la mappemonde aérienne , Le Pneu-trône, Les 16 soupapes, l’alphabet aérien, Le plus / moins, le bar, le tas de pneus, la harpe d’Aéol, le cube-cinquante-cinquante, le puit d’air, l’orgue à sacs, le vent d’automne, le montre pneumatique, le Wagon à pneus, le tuyau de Poste à pression, le pont aérien…

Les expositions techniques
On peut voir les armatures pneumatiques de LÜDECKE à travers le «Flipper à air », les fauteuils de voyage pneumatiques et climatisés de GRAMMER AG, le système de filtres de HERDING, l’ensemble GRAMMER Solar (collecteurs d’air chaud, le garage à air Carcoon, la planche à air Via Sports, la collection de ventilateurs de Ralf G. Augenstein…)

Objets en prêt et images d’artistes, architectes et autres designers
Par exemple, Hans Hemmert / Berlin, la Chapelle baudruche et sa vidéo, Res Ingold / Munich, le paquebot aérien, «On Air » de Ralf Homann, Luft&Laune, Architects of Air, Dreamspace, Frank Fierke, HARUKO, Wilhem Koch, continuité de l’ancienne collection GUMMEUMS avec la mise au carré du tube, le Modèle de la Tour de Vésonne, le vélo-pneu, les escaliers pneumatiques, l’artiste gonflé, air épais et rare, les tuyaux aériens, les vagues sous pression, le siège à air de Zanotta…

En dehors des expositions, il y a aussi des colloques, des lectures, des visites guidées et des concerts. Au rez-de-chaussée, il y a des expositions temporaires sur le design, l’architecture, l’art, la technologie et l’art quotidien.
Le Musée de l’Air a été fondé début 2006 à l’initiative privée et est financé par des dons et des complices de l’air sans aucune aide publique.
